Dog Friendly: Captain Jefferds Inn: Kennebunkport, Maine

On our trip to Maine in May we stayed at many beautiful inns and hotels, but this one stood out because of its excellence in every aspect: the room, the food, the location, and the dog friendly amenities. We had a wonderful stay at the beautiful Captain Jefferds Inn. The breakfast was delicious--fresh fruit with sorbet, popovers with blueberry preserves, and cheesy chicken. The room pictured above is the camden room, unfortunately it's not a dog friendly room. My favorite room is the lovely terrace room, which has french doors looking out onto the terrace and garden. The shops and restaurants of Kennebunkport are all within walking distance of the inn. We also walked Becky, our miniature dachshund, to a small beach right after we got settled.

Dog Friendly: Mill House Inn: East Hampton, NY

Featured in Travel & Leisure magazine, the Mill House Inn is located in East Hampton, New York. The historic village of East Hampton is within walking distance of the inn. This dog friendly inn is every cottage lover's dream vacation accommodation! I love the beautiful pedestal sinks and beadboard in the luxurious bathrooms! Add the Mill House Inn to your list of inns to visit this year; it's the perfect place no matter what the season!

Dog Friendly: Pilgrim's Inn: Deer Isle, Maine

The Pilgrim's Inn is on Deer Isle, a very tranquil area of Maine which can be accessed by bridge. Dogs are allowed in the Ginny's and Rugosa Rose Cottages. We enjoyed our stay in Ginny's Cottage 1, a beautifully decorated cottage with a lot of old-fashioned charm.

Dog Friendly: Hartstone Inn: Camden, Maine

I'll start this blog with my favorite inn, the Hartstone Inn in Camden, Maine. It's a beautiful inn in the heart of a perfect coastal village. The inn is located within walking distance of Camden's shops and restaurants. Dogs can be accommodated in several of the rooms in the Hideaway. The Hartstone Inn does not discriminate, the dog friendly rooms are equally as nice as any other.
