Dog Friendly: Rental: Quaint Cape on Quoddy Head: Lubec, Maine

Located less than half a mile from West Quoddy Head Lighthouse, this quaint cape has three bedrooms and one bathroom. This 1850s post-and-beam cape is the second most eastern private house in the United States. With ten private acres and 350 feet of rocky shore less than 75 feet from the front door, this is the perfect Maine cottage to escape to with your dog!

Dog Friendly: Wentworth by the Sea: New Castle, New Hampshire

New Castle, New Hampshire

New Castle is a charming coastal town located near Portsmouth, New Hampshire. This small town is home to an amazing hotel that was originally built in 1874. This beautiful hotel was renovated in 2003. I prefer the smaller rooms which evoke the feeling of an old inn. Even more amazing is the fact that this hotel has no pet fee!

Dog Friendly: Stepping Stones B & B: Wilton Center, New Hampshire

Featured in Yankee Magazine, Stepping Stones Bed & Breakfast is located in southwestern New Hampshire. Landscape designer, Ann Carlsmith is an avid gardener and hand-weaver. The twin room is beautiufully decorated with greens, textured whites, and botanicals. The solarium breakfast room looks especially intriguing . . . it reminds me of the conservatory in the movie Practical Magic. This bed and breakfast is dog friendly; Ann has a german shepherd and 2 cats. The website does not specify whether there is a pet fee.

Dog Friendly :: Hotel Fauchère :: Milford, PA

The Hotel Fauchere was recently featured in Country Living Magazine. It's a charming hotel located in Milford, Pennsylvania. Although I've never stayed at this particular hotel, it looks simply stunning from the photographs. I look forward to staying there some time this summer. I contacted the hotel and was happy to find out that they are dog friendly! The fee is $25.

6/14--Well now I have to update this post because I was lucky enough to stay at Hotel Fauchere in May. On our annual road trip to Maine, we stopped in Milford on the way back home. The hotel was simple, charming, and timeless. The service was impeccable. Dinner at Bar Louis was delicious, especially the cream of mushroom soup. We enjoyed our equally delicious breakfast out on the porch.

Dog Friendly: Pilgrim's Inn: Deer Isle, Maine

The Pilgrim's Inn is on Deer Isle, a very tranquil area of Maine which can be accessed by bridge. Dogs are allowed in the Ginny's and Rugosa Rose Cottages. We enjoyed our stay in Ginny's Cottage 1, a beautifully decorated cottage with a lot of old-fashioned charm.

Dog Friendly: Hartstone Inn: Camden, Maine

I'll start this blog with my favorite inn, the Hartstone Inn in Camden, Maine. It's a beautiful inn in the heart of a perfect coastal village. The inn is located within walking distance of Camden's shops and restaurants. Dogs can be accommodated in several of the rooms in the Hideaway. The Hartstone Inn does not discriminate, the dog friendly rooms are equally as nice as any other.

The focus of this blog is not just to inform you about dog friendly inns, hotels, and rentals, but to inform you of those that stand out from the crowd.
